Required Information for Potential Student Athletes
The NCAA requires that we send recruits information concerning our graduation rates, banned substances and visitation limitations. Also presented below is information concerning Freshman Eligibility and use of your social security information.
5 Visit Limitation
As a potential student athlete you are allowed a maximum of five “official” visits to Division I and Division II institutions combined as a high school senior. Beginning September 1st after high school graduation you are allowed a maximum of five additional visits throughout your college career. Exceeding this limit would make you ineligible.
Athlete Graduation Rates
The NCAA requires all institutions to submit graduation rates for its student athletes. Here is a link to the report for the freshmen entering UTPB in 2001.
It shows no graduation rate information as UTPB did not award any athletic scholarships until 2003.
The report for the freshman class of 2002 has not yet been published, but again no graduation rates will appear. 34% of the freshmen athletes entering UTPB in 2002 graduated compared to 30.4% of all entering freshmen.
